Broadband Update
CTC submitted a federal grant through BEAD (Broadband Equity Access and Deployment) . The grant must be approved by the state of Minnesota and then it would go to NTIA for final approval this fall. Unfortunately, we are just hearing that this federal grant program has announced some sort of restructuring before next steps are determined. If this grant is successful, we would be looking at 2027 or 2028 buildout. This grant is looking at pockets of unserved/underserved areas on Martin Rd., Eagle Ridge, and Eagle Lake Rd.
We have pockets around our city that do not have a high-speed internet solution. If you are one of those areas, we would like to hear from you.
